An experience of a lifetime! We flew over the famous Dubai skyline in a private helicopter and I must say, these are the views I'll never forget. Read our review to learn how the experience went down from the beginning to the end.
Check-in
The helipad is located next to a police academy in Dubai and Dubai Ripe market. We were asked to arrive at least 45 minutes before our flight time. This was just to complete all safety procedures and get ready for the flight. Upon arrival, our car was checked from the bottom using mirrors and proceeded inside. The waiting room is a huge indoor area with a reception and seats. You can get drinking water there but not much of anything else.
Once our registration was complete (don't forget your IDs!), we waited inside before proceeding to a small meeting room to watch a safety video. Every passenger was then weighed on a scale, to distribute our weight evenly inside the helicopter. Once the video finished, we could proceed to a locker room. We were asked to leave all our belongings there, including big cameras and selfie sticks. Security is the primary concern here so the security guards are pretty strict. Lastly, we were given a yellow life vest fastened around our belly, and off we went.
Ready for take-off
Right after we left the building and walked towards the helipad, our helicopter was landing and waiting for us. The excitement rushed through our veins by seeing the helicopter land just so close to us. We head towards it and were assigned seats based on our weight. Seatbelts, huge earphones, and we were ready to take off. Our captain gave s a warm welcome and we were taking off. Such an amazing experience when the helicopter starts elevating and moving out of nowhere. These moments stay in my memory forever.
Enjoy the views
Our helicopter tour was 12 minutes long and we flew across The Palm, Burj Al Arab, Downtown, and Burj Khalifa, and these were only the main highlights. While it was a bit foggy, the visibility was still great, and we had the whole of Dubai in front of us (or below us). There's no other way how to see this beautiful city from this angle.
The breathtaking experience combined with mesmerizing views of all the landmarks of Dubai. We did a circle in the sky and were getting back amazed. The whole experience is dreamy and I could just stay up there the whole day watching the city and it still won't be enough. And even if you're afraid of flying, you will be totally fine here. All the ground staff and experienced captain helped us to feel completely safe.
